Will there be fireworks this year?
Yes! Fireworks over the Chester River will follow the Friday night Block Party at Wilmer Park. View them anywhere along the river, including from the park.

When is the parade?
The Tea Party Festival Parade is Saturday, May 25 at 10am down High Street.

When is the reenactment?
The “throwing of the tea” is reenacted at 2pm. It begins at the Main Stage and ends at the Foot of High Street on the Chester River.

What if I’m coming by boat?
There is no “controlled restricted area” to anchor; please avoid anchoring near the Schooner Sultana. The river is open to anchoring and the dinghy dock is free to use. No Water Taxi service available this weekend. For more information, contact the Chestertown Marina Office

Are pets allowed at the Festival?
No, pets are not permitted for any days of the festival due to crowds, explosive devices, and safety. Please leave all pets at home.

Is there a special event for the 250th anniversary?
Yes! The public is welcome to attend a 250th commemorative event on Thursday, May 23 at 5:30pm at the Custom House lawn at the Foot of High Street. Hear from distinguished speakers, including keynote speaker Adam Goodheart, Director of the Washington College Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience.
